No wonder your name is Eagle. It's your eyes!! Yep, I looked and there they are! Now, if only they actually gripped the casing. Mark, I'll assume you have one of these flip clips? Or, well, anyone can answer this... Even with the tiny (and, man, they ARE TINY) grips cast into the flip clip, mine still rides up over time. Sastian, any chance of beefing up the interior grips on the clip?? PLEASE?? Thanks. BTW that CAD rendering looks VERY COOL. My girlfriend wants one now!!

Yes, I have a Flip-Clip. The only time if rides up is occasioanlly when slipping it into my Handspring Sport Case. Other than that, it seems fine. Don't get me wrong, it will slip if I intentionally try, but its not really a problem otherwise.

Sanchan,
I have had the same problem. I keep my Visor loose in my front pocket and pulling it in and out a few times had my cover at least one "notch" loose, if not more. I read somewhere (maybe earlier in this thread - I wish I knew who to give credit to) that using double stick tape worked well. So I tried this and it TOTALLY solved the problem. I put two small pieces of tape on both sides of my Visor, above the ridged sections, and then slid the clip on. Granted you might end up with a slightly sticky Visor but it is nothing that could not be removed if desired. Plus, if you are like me, you love the Flip-Clip enough to never take it off and so the problem is not a problem at all. It seems to me that without physically attaching the clip in some way it will always be somewhat loose, and I believe that that is a feature not a bug .

Sastian,
Any projected date on the Flip-Lid? It looks really nice and I can't wait to get this PalmIII lid off my Visor before it goes on strike out of protest .

Copy that, rda, the "removeability" IS a feature. I'm like you. My intention is to make the Flip Clip/Lid a "permanent" accessory to the Visor. So, may take that double sided tape route. Echo rda's question: Sastien, know when in Q1 you're anticipating release of the Visor-specific lid. My Visor IS looking to strike (It thinks it's better than that lid!)

For those of you wanting a more permanent Flip-Clip, you might want to try a few tiny dabs of clear silicone to hold it in place. I haven't tried this myself, but a dab on the lower end of each side of the Flip-Clip and one at each of the triangular spots on the top should probably hold it rather well without looking too bad, either. It should also allow for fairly easy removal without a lot of residue should you ever want to take it completely off.

Wink Lids back in stock!

For those of you who have been in a holding pattern, waiting for us to get the Indigo lids in stock, well we finally have them in. We also received other colors on back order, such as purple. As far as the Flip-Lid is concerned, we are moving right along with our development. We hope to have first runs in 6-8 weeks. thanks for all of your patience.

Cool Loving it!

The Tacilis solution has made me a happy Vdx camper. I envied the Palms with their Flip covers and somewhat disliked the Vdx's clip cover. Once I read the review here at VisorCentral, I rushed to the site and bought the combo. Waited a 2 wks and here it is. Love it. Haven't seen the issue of the Clip slipping off. Only improvement would be to make the lid flush with the body of the Visor instead a slight curve. I think this has already been noted on their web site for future runs.

Wondering if one should get one.... For $14.70 DO IT!

Question

Hi Sastian,

yeah this baby is really looking good and I would really love to order it but till now your website does not allow international order.
When will I be able to place my order here from Germany? I am really desperately waiting....
Is is such a big deal to charge credit cards international?

Hope you can help me.

Take care
Chris

it's not accepting the order, it's shipping it! I assure we are working on our international solution. We are learning a lot as we go. the Import/export thing is getting expensive. we want to make sure to offer our products at comparable prices overseas. Expect changes regaurding these methods soon.

Hmmm - shipping should not be that expensive. I receive a lot of packages from the U.S. and prices are okay when taking the normal US Postal Service. Packages usually take 5-7 business days.
Import/Export - well, tax is on the receiver and the german customs will not charge tax till the declared value of a whole package is under 25 US$ (shipping included). HINT
And a declared commercial sample is always free for customs.

Don't worry about comparable prices - there are no comparable products around here. Germany is always a bit behind concerning PDA products - for example we only have 4 Springboard modules available here.

And just charge credit cards - they are very common here too.

So you are working on it - that is very good. When I can be of any help to you do not hesitate to contact me!

Take care
Chris

The Tactilis FlipClip has made my Visor even more useful than before by making it more available to me when I need it. No longer is checking my appointments or address book a three handed operation where I try to balance the Visor, its stock clip-on lid, and my stylus. Now it's as simple as a single flip of the lid and you are ready to go. I can see a time soon where having the FlipClip and the companion FlipLid will ensure that I carry my Visor around with me everywhere I go and make it as essential in my daily life as my wristwatch.

My only request is to incorporate a sensor that would have the Visor make that funky Star Trek communicator sound when you open the lid.

Oh please God don't let it make that sound.

I just got mine yesterday and it is a major improvement over the clip-on stock lid. The Palm III cover doesn't fit all that well, but it'll tide me over till I'm able to order the custom-made Visor cover.

The only suggestion I have for the Visor line of FlipLids is to make the area that covers the screen perfectly clear. This would make it easier to see alarms and such. The frosted area on the current ones are a bummer.

The Flip-Lid is supposed to have a "Read-through" clear window design.

Wink New Lid

Dear PDAENVY,
I wish I could tell you it's just a few days away, but I believe people like yourself deserve the best! We are still reworking the design and trying to put out a lid that is not only functional , but is pleaseing to the eye as well as the pocketbook. At the same time we are working on a whole new product, we believe will be as well received as was the Flip-Clip. So please be patient and remember "good things come to those that wait!"
