Exclamation Visor Turns Off Computer!!!

WTF?

Twice now my Visor has completely powered off my computer the second it hits the cradle. This never happened on my other computer (just got a new one last week), and it doesn't happen all the time.

Any ideas?

I had this problem too. Are you using W2k? This may be an ESD issue. Try touching the hotsync contacts before placing your Visor in the cradle. That seemed to work for me.

I have had this happen as well in the past, especially in the winter when humidity is low and static is high. To help with my problem, I used an anti-static ground strap to ground the cradle directly to my PC case.

Thumbs up Thanks

Hopefully that is the problem (static). When you say touch the hot sync contacts, you mean the visor or the cradle?

I am not using win2000, but am using XP.

I would guess on the cradle. This will ground you out to the system before your Visor can ground to the cradle. The way that I discovered that static was my problem was I could hear a "crackle" through my speackers when my Visor hit the cradle. To solve that, I just began touching the screw on a nearby outlet before hitting the cradle. I then did the static strap bit in by previous post.

I'm sorry...

I actually love XP. Maybe it's becasue it's on a screaming new computer preinstalled, but it has been solid. Yes, I am one of those who likes flashy, eye candy...I have been using Silver screen since I got my visor 1.5 years ago. ;-)
