-- Date book record archiving (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10286)
SO I got this message-->
-- Date Book
- Some PC records were not copied to the handheld. Your handheld may be full. To correct this situation, delete some records and perform a HotSync operation again.
Desktop = 882, Handheld = 881
Date Book synchronization failed......
Now I want to keep the records (I don't need to see them but I would like to be able to refer to them if needed) from 6 months ago or more..... how can I do that?

I would suggest that you just create a date book archive on the PC from Palm Desktop. I'm not at my desktop now but I believe you just need to go to the address section and select Save As.
Once you've done that you can purge older records. Unfortunately, Palm Desktop doesn't give you very good options here for selecting date ranges to purge.
Purging too much
I found how to do it (open date book go to TOOLS --> Purge Events) but you are right, you get the choice of 1,2 or 3 weeks or a month. I'd like at least 6 months - anyone know of a hack that offers this?

No hack, just a Win utility to interact with the DBA file...
Go to http://linkesoft.com/english/archiver and download the DateBookArchiver for the Palm Desktop.
This utility archives the Palm Desktop appointments by arbitrary date or size. With the date feature, it will archive appointments prior to the desired date, leaving the appointments after the desired date on the DateBook file (and your Visor, once you've sync'ed).
The archive created is the Palm Datebook archive format.
