Can someone recommend a Screen Protector?
Sorry Nelson, I don't have an answer to your question, but I do have a screen protector question, so I figured I'd post it here...you have a nice heading.
I need a screen protector for my Edge. I like the feel of the WriteRights, but they don't seem to have one for the Edge. Has anyone used NuShield? or do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks!

If you like WriteRights, the Deluxe versions should fit, I believe.
My favorite screen protector, however, is the Brando, from www.brando.hk.com (I think). You can find a lot of other postings about them on the forums here.

Get the ones for the Palm IIIc. I have one on my Edge and it
barely fits, but it does fit. I use the WriteRight from Fellowes.

LOL, it's ok. I think I figured it out, you gotta wash it, and kinda let it dry and pick off lint with your hand, and carefully put it on. I have the Brando, and it's great. Other than the installation....It feels great to write on! Really nice! And it's like...scratch proof, it's smooth, it's awesome. Gotta try it! Get one, cuz they're good! Don't have to replace them every month, and if screw up, just take it off and put it back on! It'll be a good investment

When I owned an Edge, I used the Brando protectors. CompanionLink also makes a protector specifically for the Edge, but they are essentially the same as Writerights for color devices (which I do not prefer).
I still use the Brando Protectors now that I am using an m500, but I just recently ordered a G2 protector from PDAScreenProtectors.com. They look very similar to the Brando protectors, except they don't use adhesive (which means no air bubbles!). Here's a link for a review of the protectors, as well as a link to PDAScreenProtectors:

The ones from Companion Link have worked great for me -- and fit really well--

LOL, I thought about that tape trick, for a while, and now I figured it out. Thanks! I'ma try it now...The G2's seem nice, but I like the surface of the Brando, tried out one of my friend's G2's today
. I'ma stick with the Asian Brandos...hahaha

you can use writerights for the deluxe but you have to trim two sides of it just to make it fit in the edge.

When I buy a new, clean one, I will leave it on virtually forever. I made a mistake with mine and the adhesive side has some flaws on it where I messed up the adhesive before I heard about the tape trick.
Because of the flawed adhesive, a side edge lifts up some, and allows dust under it so I remove and wash it every couple weeks, which creates its own problems.
Even with the mistakes I made, the Brandos are by far the best screen protectors I have tried!

That's my plan, too (unless I really like the G2 protector). At this point, I see no reason why it would have to be removed. It will probably need to be replaced sometime, but until then, it's staying on.

I couldn't agree with you more. I have actually forgotton that I have a screen protector on. I never used a screen protector until I started using the Brandos, so I used to be very careful when touching the screen. I used to be mortified when someone would want to look at and try my PDA because I was sure they would scratch it up. It makes me crazy when people who don't own PDAs take the stylus and practically jam it through the screen and out the backside of it. I would usually say "Here, let me show you how it works." I am very possessive of my palm and when other people use it I actually feel violated (yes, I am that neurotic).
By the way, I read somewhere that Brandos are sold in the US. If I find it again, I will post it for you. Or do you know where?
I have no idea where in the US Brandos might be sold, but I admit to having thought about buying a buncha them and re-selling them through forums like this.
I am not $ure why I don' ju$t go ahead and do thi$ idea, but it $ure i$ tempting.
By the way, I found a review for the PDAScreenProtector G2 at www.thegadgeteer.com- they look like they might be a worthy alternative to the Brando. It would be interesting to do a head-to-head challenge!

I will hunt down that site where you can buy them in the US and post it (if I can find it again).
I just got my G2 in the mail about an hour ago. I haven't applied it yet, though. Why? Because I don't want to take my Brando off and risk ruining it. I am truly pathetic. I plan on putting it on this afternoon - I will post my unofficial review.
My G2 protector is now back in the package. I couldn't get the little SOB on and now my nerves are shot.
And now my Brando is back on and it has lint under it. And it was perfect before. And people have been walking by my office looking in as I was talking (and swearing) to myself. And now they think I am a psycho.
Seriously, the protector is made out of a material very similar to the Brando, but without the adhesive and without the cloudy finish. I think that if I can get it on I will like it. I think that screen protectors are a little harder to apply to the Palm V and m500 lines because the bottom of the screen has that ever-so-slight curve to it. Even the Brandos were much easier to apply to my Edge than they are to my m500. I think that when I get home tonight I will try putting it on again. I will let you know if I have any luck.
Well, I got it on and I really liked it, except for some lint underneath. I tried to take it off and reapply it but I ruined it when I took it off.
Putting the G2 on is pretty tricky (but like I said, I think it will be easier on the Edge). You have to tuck in the upper left-hand corner, followed by the lower left corner, then you have to kind of bend in the right upper and lower corners. Once the G2 is in place, you would never know that there is a protector on the screen. I dragged and droped some icons, wrote some graffiti, played a game of Yahtzee, and some other minor things. The G2 is crystal clear - no haziness or milkiness to it at all. I think they are just a bit thicker than the Brando, but it's hardly noticable.
The directions that come with the G2 are a full 8x11 page and they are very detailed. I have scanned the instruction page and I can email it to you if you would like so you can see for yourself. I tried to attach it and VC will not accept a file that big. Do yourself a favor and follow them exactly. If you do decide to get one, I would also suggest that you order two.
Which do I prefer: the Brando or the G2? Tough question. I like them both for different reasons. But, I think that if I would have got the G2 on without the lint, I would have left it on for good. I really like the Brando, but I didn't realize how much I missed the clear screen until I took it off. For people who prefer to have a touch of the anti-glare quality to their screen protector, I would recommend the Brando. I think that otherwise, I would recommend the G2.
I am going to order another G2 and give it one more try (at home in the kitchen when I have more time to work with it). Until then, I am perfectly happy with my Brando.

Here's the link to purchase the Brandos in the US. Check out the fine print: "Resold Under License of Warman U.S. Patent Re 35,318."
Is this who I think it is?
OH NO! MR. BILL!
Insidious little devil, isn't he.
