I have been having some really bad times with my Visor and VisorPhone recently. I had spoken with Handspring about the issue and they suggested that it was a software conflict.

Reluctantly, I performed a hard-reset, and cleared out the backup directory on my hard drive -- pretty much starting over. For those with a lot of apps and information on their handheld, you would know what a major impact this has on your symbiotic relationship with your data.

Well, the problem persisted, and I received a replacement VisorPhone from Handspring. As soon as I put the damn thing in, it crashed my Visor! Ugh... what to do?!?!

Well, I think I have found the problem and a potential solution. The problem comes from the VisorPhone wiggling around in the Springboard slot. As soon as some not-so-perfect connections are made as a result of the movement, the Visor crashes. I also suspected that the SmartCard could be at fault for the same reason.

To remedy this, I put a small piece of paper between the battery and the SmartCard to hold it secure. I also put another piece of paper, folded, on the flat part of the VisorPhone to create more surface tension, securing the VisorPhone in the Springboard slot.

It's not a very elegant solution, but it works like a charm. When I performed my typical test by rapping on the side of my Visor, it did not crash. WOO-HOO!
