I can hardly wait for tomorrow.
I haven't felt this way since last month when I was waiting for my memplug, and before that when I was waiting for my Prism to charge and before that when I was waiting for my HS ordered visor deluxe.

I really like the memplug but it doesn't work directly w/all apps so I have to move them to'n'fro, and that's tooo slow.

*Memplug storage is ok.
*Launcher III makes organization even better with tabs and many apps do run from icons on Launcher tabs. But not all, like mapopolis, SAT hangman, etc.

But TOMORROW, I SHALL RULE THE WORLD AND BE (un-freakin' Shaquille) UNSTOPPABLE!!

I can't wait too!

Pi developer, Will I need to pay twice for Pi Direct if I have SmartMedia and CF memplug or I can just buy 1 copy and use it on both memplug?

You only need to pay once.
Since Memplug-SM and Memplug-CF share the same File System Library.
Applications run on Memplug-SM will also run on Memplug-CF.

Thank God
But will PiDirect be flashed onto the module, and not tied to my hotsync name, so that I can use the module as a SB module, on any Visor without any installation? (besides plugging it in )

That's a good question, Miradu2000.

My husband has a Vdx and I have sometimes let him use my backup mod.

So that would make sense. If piDirect were on the memplug, I could pop in a new smc and let HIM use it.
memplug=memplug software

I would have to guess that that's the way it will work, based upon how they have already set up their software, previously. It will just be another icon/app that shows up when you insert memplug.

Hey, isn't it tomorrow already, somewhere?????

You cannot use PiDirect with VDX. It needs a OS3.5 device.
I have VDX and Memplug too.

Talking

Hot Diggity Donuts!

Thanks for pointing out it was in the updater. I just sat crying at a blank screen before that!

I know it says Mapopolis doesn't work. But if somebody figures out how to make it work before I do, please post it here.

Travis

Do you feel a dip in productivity world wide today?

Question

I moved the mapopolis files over (just the databases) and it worked!!!!!

Oh boy!!!

My wife will never understand my enthusiasm ....

Travis

p.s. update:
I moved Datebook 4 program over to card. When I started it up - was greated by a blank screen, but before the groan had finished it came on the screen and worked.

This thing rocks!

Angry Fatal exception

Opps!!!!
I moved one of my handbase databases. When I pulled up the database I got a Fatal Exception (Windows users read Blue Screen of Death!)

The only way to reset is to remvoe Memplug and then hard reset!

Shazbot!

Please read the document before using PiDirect.

PiDirect is still in its beta. You are adviced to backup your data to avoid data loss if you want to beta testing this software.

And please refer to our PiDirect user manual, it has stated an easy way to avoid hard-reset.
--- Quote from our manual ----
TIPS
To avoid hard reset:
If the Welcome screen flashes up with each reset, perform a warm reset by holding down the page-up
button on the visor as it resets (hold it unt il the preferences screen appears). Continuously pressing the
page-up button during a reset prevents the device from sending those startup events. You can then
delete the offending application or remove that application from PiDirect subdirectory and press the
reset button once more to return to normal. (If you don't press reset again, some components of the OS
might not be functional since they weren't informed of the reset and thus couldn't initialize themselves.)

Hope this help all of you.
And Enjoy PiDiect

Thanks PiDeveloper.
I did read the manual, but when it crashes using HanDBase. It locks up. You can not turn the Visor off, you can't do a reset. Nothing until you remove memplug. As your Compatiblity Application List suggest, I moved the databases to ram & left the program on the card. This fixed the problem, but is the exact opposite of what I want.

I still really like PiDirect!

Travis,

If you read the fine print on the very bottom of the last page of the manual, it explains how to do a warm reset in order to avoid the hard reset.

Also, I have had the best luck with "disable after reset" checked and leaving the MemPlug in during the warm reset.

Travis,

Please tell again HOW you got mapopolis to work. You moved the databases where to ram? YIKES! My hometown county is 2mb.

How will I ever be able to keep 2mb free on my Prism?

LOL...

I sat at my desk and held the Mavica at arms length and took the pic, opened it with Photoshop, converted to grayscale and then selectively darkened and lightened. Spent about 10 minutes on it because I wanted and avatar.

Yesterday I couldn't spell fotografer... today, I are one.

No wait, YOU are THE one. I guess that makes me the old bald guy with the cool avatar.

Thanks,

I tried moving my Mapopolis databases over and quite a different result. My maps show up with no information in them and I get a fatal exception when I try to quit. Are you using the Basic or Enhanced maps?

piDeveloper,

I have many apps that don't show an icon after I move them to the card.

*palmjongg
*smorse
*vegas slots
*tap 2000

I thought maybe it was a hackmaster conflict, but I disabled it.
I thought maybe it was a launcherIII conflict buy I tried the default launcher.

The same apps work/run/show icon perfectly when moved back into the launcher directory.
Could you explain???

ps. Is there still a "LIMIT" on how many apps we can put on the beta version? I'm really having alot of fun!
