Question

It appears that InfoMitt may be ready to ship their Pager module soon. However, they advised me today that they will be shipping only with pre-paid service from SkyTel making the Pager $89, which include three months of service. I had hoped to switch my current SkyTel service. Apparently this may be an option eventually.

I also noted, the module does not receive pages when not in the Visor. So if you happen to get paged when you are using you Eyemodule etc. you are out of luck.

Did anyone out there Beta this module? I would love to hear some feedback.
Thanks!

It constantly amazes me how far off the point some product development folks are. The fact that Visor users would occasionly NOT have their pager module in the visor should have been at the top of the list of problems to solve.

My guess is that the thing is relying on the Visor's battery for power. I'd be happy to carry a little extra weight with me if I could be assured my pager would still receive pages when off my visor. The thing wouldn't even have to notify me. I'd be happy enough to simply find any pages I'd received when I plug the pager back into the springboard slot. My scenario for using the eyemodule would be that I'd only use it for a few minutes at a time, swapping back to my pager module when done. If there had been a page in that few minutes, the module would simply inform me "You were paged", and when and by whom.

Come on, developers! THINK!
