Question

The CardAccess site now includes an update to the ThinModem software that includes "Addition of FileMover application, which allows bundled applications to be replaced"

I presume that this means the ThinModem includes an amount of flash memory, where applications can be stored (correct me if I am wrong).

So the question is: how much memory does it include? Anybody know?

Lightbulb

It has 500k (0.5mb) of flash memory. Not too bad for a little extra memory.

Not bad, but too little for any serious usage IMHO. If they'd included a megabyte, I'd have been able to store AOL, Avantgo, and MultiMail . Still, it's better than nothing.

The other question is how can I get it outside of the US? (UK to be specific).

ThinModem v. 90 and fax support

I received the following email on 11/1/2000 re: ThinModems fax capabilities. I understand that the Handspring Modem supports fax, I don't know if it contains 500K.

"The modem does NOT currently support faxes. We will add this feature with a software update some time after the V.90 modem update. The V.90 update will increase the maximum speed of the modem to 56Kbps and be available in a couple of months.
Thanks for your inquiry,
Card Access Support.
