Yeah, I can't really see it mattering that much. The coins, though, have unique features depending on the country, right? If not "depending on the country" aren't there special backsides of coins representing the member nations? The coolest thing we've done here in this country in a long time with our money is giving each state the right to design the back of a 25 cent piece. It's really a lot of fun to see all the different designs.

In Australia in the past a lot of aboriginal children have been taken away from their families to become 'civilized'. Lots of them never saw their family again...

The Sniper is terrorizing the DC area. yet I have yet to see him/her/them referred to as terrorists. I guess that label will come if turns out that the sniper is Arabic or muslim.

I think the sniper is most definitely a terrorist and we need to start declaring as much. Mind you I'm obviously not calling him an Islamic terrorist. Contrary to many people's ideas, Islamic doesn't mean terrorist just as terrorist doesn't mean Islamic. By calling this person a terrorist we can loosen the percieved Islam and terrorism, which is a definite plus. I'm not accusing you of holding such a belief, but merely referencing it (as I am).

I have no problem calling this nutball a terrorist. Terrorists not only try to kill (or injure) people, but those people have to be innocent, going about their daily lives. By hurting them then they are leveraging their violence to disrupt the way of life of everyone else. People should be scared to merely exist. The danger must be lurking where one cannot predict nor protect. This sniper has accomplished all of that. So in the truest sense of the word, this person is a terrorist. He uses terror, not merely violence.

And then I get to thinking how this is slow and methodical, killing just a few people but disrupting the lives of thousands of times more. The "connection" between this and the anthrax was more an intellectual connection. I didn't mean to imply the same people did it, but that the methods are quite similar.

You posted a question. You then stated that you thought that if your premise had not been discredited, you'd have thought that it would have been big news. If it had not been discredited, it probably _would_ have been big news (I had never even heard the original theory, hence my question). It was not big news, though, so it stands to reason that it was discredited, and the news report which you found showed that it was discredited at the same time the report was written. It's strange that you're taking offense to this considering that you're a being of logic, reason, and science.

You must be watching a channel like CNN where they don't allow anyone to use "the 'T' word". MSNBC has had quite a few people referring to this as terrorism (even on the Donahue show).

The observed trend so far is that nearly all terrorists who have attacked US citizens have been Arab or muslims (the only exception seeming to be Timothy McVeigh). I thought that such 'logic' was perfectly alright with you.
