quote:Yeah, I can't really see it mattering that much. The coins, though, have unique features depending on the country, right? If not "depending on the country" aren't there special backsides of coins representing the member nations? The coolest thing we've done here in this country in a long time with our money is giving each state the right to design the back of a 25 cent piece. It's really a lot of fun to see all the different designs.

Re: Sniper
The Sniper is terrorizing the DC area. yet I have yet to see him/her/them referred to as terrorists. I guess that label will come if turns out that the sniper is Arabic or muslim.

They both have taken place at the same time in the calendar year, and in the same manner they terrorize people while killing very few. I have no reason to specifically link the two, but they both seem to be very similar, at least on the surface.

I surely don't know of the Swans without Google.
quote:No, I'm being logical. Contrary to your apparent belief, logic does not exist in a vacuum. One does not simply input any wild fantasy into a logic generator and come out with a solid answer. One must first evaluate the premises upon which the logic is based. If there is no valid reason to believe the premises are true, then one's logical conclusions are so much mental masturbation, full of sound and fury, and in the end, signifying nothing.

quote:No, I didn't accuse you of knowing the answer to your question. I said you answered your own question. IOW, all the information which you needed to answer the question was already in your possession. Then I helped you formulate the answer, and this is the thanks I get.

That's simply not the case. Please read my original post and tell me if you think any of the following statements are justified:
Just because somehting can be discreditted doesn't mean I believe it. For instance if you were to claim the earth is flat. I can logically ask "has that been discreditted?"

That was my question in the first place! I haven't seen anything, and I said as much.
I was looking for other people's input not someone telling me how stupid I am for even asking it.

Clearly I am looking for additional information beyond the scope of that article. I'm simply looking for more information.

Nothing more. Nothing less. :-) Additionally, my posted link was made after my posted question and when I posted my question I was not aware of that article. I was relying on my brain and auditory reports from around that time.
quote:
Going back to your application of logic, it was incorrect to assume I knew the latter (the linked article) when making the former(question about anyone reading something such as the link).
quote:
So to address your comment that I'm incapable of admitting wrong (first of all, that's entirely true as I make mistakes all the time! look at how many posts I've made have been editted). I submitted a reply to my own question, though didn't answer it, that's true. But my question was a shotgun. It was looking for any and all reports people might have seen/heard. In such a context the link I posted (not known by me when I asked the question) is part of the answer yes, but it doesn't shut the door to other contributions and it certainly doesn't open me up to criticisms that my posts are pointless. I'm sure you understand.

If someone is trying to be the former and ends up being the latter, it isn't hard to say as much. "I'm sorry, I meant nothing by it." That's all I'm really expecting.

I trust he wasn't doing it on purpose. Likewise I wasn't trying to say I didn't answer my own question, because in part I did. I am just looking for what everyone else has heard. [...]

quote:You must be watching a channel like CNN where they don't allow anyone to use "the 'T' word". MSNBC has had quite a few people referring to this as terrorism (even on the Donahue show).
