-- Visor announced on Tuesday? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=576)

So what is the likelyhood that we will see a Visor announcement on Tuesday?

One thing that has me worried is that the domain visor.net is still pointing to Network Solutions temporay DNS servers...

Mercury Center reported today that:

"Handspring officials would not comment on the report, saying full product details will be released next week. The company is simply ``not prepared'' at this time to ``handle customer calls,'' said President and Chief Executive Officer Donna Dubinsky, a co-founder of Palm Computing."

So a debut on Tuesday could be likely...

Yeah, but there's announcements and then there's ANNOUNCEMENTS. This could mean anything from a few spec sheets on their site, to a full blown bells and whistles marketing campaign. And we all know what we really want: pictures.

Ah well, next Tuesday is now less than 5 1/2 days away. I've waited longer for my clothes to dry...

Cool

Here's the official word I got from Handspring:

"Thank you for your interest in Handspring's products. As of today, we have
not formally announced our products and so your inquiry, while it is valued,
is not something that we are able to respond to at this time. Handspring is
a licensee of the Palm Operating System and has been busy building handheld
devices. We plan to launch this Fall. Following our launch, customers will
know where and how to buy our devices.

We look forward to having you as a Handspring customer!!!!!!"

It's Fall now isn't it?

I'm starting to get antsy

Talking

From Reuter story
http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/199...ndspring_1.html

"The hand-held computer will be unveiled on the company's Web site and will only be sold online until early next year, when it is launched to retail channels, sources near the company said."

Exclamation

This all sounds very Clintonesque. They are unveiling the Visor on Tuesday. It will only be sold online through the end of the year. Nobody has ever said you'd be able to actually BUY IT online Tuesday... or even before Thanksgiving.

I wouldn't be surprised if they showed pictures and took pre-orders from their site on Tuesday, along with the requisite specs and data. When will they ship it though.

I had wanted to buy one of those clear PalmIIIe's from 3com's website. I got all the way through the ordering process and finally, on the page where you enter your credit card info it said "est. ship date Sept. 29). This may be vaporware or a publicity stunt learned from the likes of Steve Jobs (the Visor Pro is supposed to be Mac compatible right out of the box you know).

I'm getting a disturbing sense of Deja-vu...
Hey Marcus, how come we don't get the Message icons on TC?

Cool

First off I want to say that this is a nice site. I am glad that there are some sites about the new Visor. Some information is available on Visorzone.com including a picture of the Visor and more information about it. I also saw it on ABC tonight. I can't wiat until tomorrow.

Thanks

Mike Webb
