-- What I really want is an Innopack 8/M. (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9966)
I don't care about lights and buzzers and voice recorders. What I want is an Innopack 8/M. a 3-pack. Modem, serial port with a cellphone connector, and 8M of flash. That way I can replace 3 modules (modem, serial/diagnostics, and 8M flash) with one.

Well, you'll get 2 out of 3 next month when the Thinmodem+ is released. It will be just like the current Thinmodem with 8mb's a Flash memory.

who makes the thinmodem+?
The Thinmodem is made by CardAccess. The Thinmodem+ was announced at COMDEX.

Can I ask why you're looking for a 'serial' port on such a module? Doesn't someone like Mark/Space make a serial cable which plugs into the bottom of your Visor?
-Jon
My Gotype also plugs into the bottom of my visor. I find it convenient to be able to use both ports when configuring routers... plus, some devices need real modem control.

I used to think the eFig module was horribly pricey. That was before I priced Socket's serial CF cards. They start about $20 below the eFig module and go quite a bit higher than that... and they're not even programmable.
