How to add DC socket to Visor?
Hello, All!
How to add DC socket to Visor?
Someone do it or see instructions?
Thanks for your answers.
hmmmmmmmmmm... I've never heard of it done before, but here are two ideas. (BTW, I'm assuming you have a Visor Deluxe, Visor 2MB, or Visor Solo.)
Number one, you could buy a travel charger for a Prism/Pro/Neo and modify your Visor using the instructions found at http://www.felesmagus.com/visor/ -- they're really easy, and they worked great for my Visor Deluxe.
The second idea -- and this is a little harder, because there's not very much free room inside a Visor -- is that you could drill a little hole in the Visor's chassis, install a DC socket, purchase a 5v 500mA power adapter, and follow the instructions on the website I gave you -- only instead of soldering the two diodes to the VDOCK pin of the Visor (see instructions), solder the diodes to the + end of your DC socket, and solder the little metal contact at the base of the Hotsync port to the - end of the socket.
I don't know how dangerous this is -- if you're concerned about damage to your Visor, I'd stick with the first option, because it's tried and tested, and it also works with any charger made for the Prism/Pro/Neo.
