Did you actually download it? I can't get past the serial number verification, because they give me a "Login is incorrect" error, even though I've already registered.

Yes, I already download it
and it works fine!

Thumbs up Nevermind

Thanks akur,

I zipped off an email to them and they responded within 10 minutes and asked me to re-register. I did, downloaded the update, and flashed the new ROM. Not bad for email tech support! Now where do I find a 60MB doc file to try on their modified CSpotRun.

I used the Aportis PDF to DOC converter (a while back)to convert a bunch of PDF SQL database manuals to PDB format (text only no images).. Works GREAT with CSpotRun on the MemPlug. I now carry the whole set around with me on my Visor!

Help

I am not able to get anything to run off of the module. Either GMovie or Cspotrun docs. They work great on internal memory, but are not seen when on the module. I tried reformatting the memory, then redoing my folders. Is there a specific folder that the docs need to be in like the gmovies? Thanks for any advice.

Unhappy

I got a "fatal error (reset)" while installing
the upgrade. Now my Memplug gives me a fatal error
everytime i plug it in. Does that mean i need to get
it replace, or is there a way to restore it back.

Angry

I also got the Fatal Error message when flashing the Rom. I'm waiting for a response from PI. I had a similar problem with my Magellan GPS (different Visor). Magellan ended up sending me a new unit (great customer service from those guys!).

Do you guys have any Hacks running? You may want to take your config down to the bare bones, do a hotsync with your desktop, and then try loading the flash updater. Just my 2 cents.

I did a hard reset. didnt resync, just plug the
SB in, and still i get the "FATAL EXCEPTION".

I'm editing my original post so that the answer to the Fatal Exception error is on the first page of this topic.

IF you get the Fatal Exception error during the update process, DON'T PANIC! There is a 3kb fix-it app that Portable Innovation has made available to those who are having the problem. Just email them and they'll walk you through the process.

When you use the "eraser" app, you won't get any on-screen feedback on what's going on after you hit the "start erase" button. In less than a minute, though, the visor will reset and you can run the Updater program. Again, follow the instructions on the site, as you do the update a little different this time around.

I just did mine, and it now works fine! In my original post, I was skeptical that this could be fixed without sending the unit back in-- happily I was wrong in that!

I too am exceptionally fataled. In my exhuberance to get the update installed, I forgot to disable my hacks, but from what I'm reading here, I'm not sure that it mattered.

I know that the fine folks at MemPlug will get me going again, but, like kirb, I'm not optimistic that the fix will take place on site.

It just has me in a box. As soon as I insert the SMC it gives the fatal exception and without the SMC the updater can't see the Module.

It must have corrupted the drivers when it crashed during the flash update.

I just wish that in 43 years, I had learned some patience. I don't think that they are even awake yet in hong Kong.

Can't wait...
Can't wait...
etc.

Jason,

The docs say...
Place your documents in your SmartMedia under \Palm\Programs\CSpotRun\
And CSpotRun should be able to detech those pdb files under this directory.

This should fix you up, you lucky dog!

Those of you with fatal exceptions, which model are you using?

I have the Platinum. I wonder if this makes a difference?

sschweg,

I got it. Yes, sometimes I am slow, messed up my directories. But it works now and it works great. I moved a 864k doc onto the smardmedia and Cspotrun loaded it up in 4 seconds. Looks great.

Thanks for the clarification.

Jason

Red face Trouble downloading software

Anyone else getting an HTTP error when they try to download the software? I enter my serial number, and then I get the error message instead of the download page.

After reading the messages, maybe I'm better off not being able to download the update!

Unhappy MemPug FatalError on Prism after update software

I also have Prism device and got same "fatal error". No hacks or overclockers used here.
