Back light Fades up on start

Have you guys noticed that in a bright room when you first turn on your Prism that it seems dimly lit, but then you look at it 2-3 minutes (leaving it on all that time) it's not dim at all?

Mine takes a few minutes to warm up. If I shut it off for a couple minutes then I gotta "warm it up" again. Pretty weird. I don't recall it doing this when I first got it a few months ago, but I wasn't in these bright florescent meeting rooms then I guess.

same here. ALso I would like to know if people have experienced some permanent dimming of the screen over time.

Glad to know my unit isn't a freak then.

could it be your eyes adjusting to the light maybe?

No it's not that because unfortunately it becomes dim again again if the Prism auto offs and then you turn it back on (the longer it is off the longer it takes to regain full brightness).

This could be normal

This behaviour could be normal. All flourescent lights, like the ones in LCD backlights and even the ones in your home, will start out a bit dim when first turned on from being "cold". This is just an artifact of the way the bulbs work. The brightness should hit full within 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending upon how long the bulb has been off and how cold it is when turned back on. Sounds normal to me.

I'm refering not to the floresecnt bulbs in the meeting room, I'm refering to the backlight brightness. This brightning of the backlight phenomena is also observed in natural, or incandecent lighting.

I noticed the same phenomenon. It doesn't bother me, though, I just figured it needs to warm up. I sell high tech products, so maybe I am more forgiving....
