Exclamation Did Handspring Go Bye-Bye?

Site is down. Little sign says"maintanence". Wonder if they'll return. As it is, they haven't been answering email for quite a few weeks.

What think you??

Bye Bye Birdie

Handspring effectively said sayanara to me when they failed to produce a CDMA compatible Treo. Not being in the Sprint PCS service area, there is quite literally no reason for me to even visit their site anymore...

Still Down

As of Sat., 25 Jan 2003 10:51AM EST - still down. Been two days??

Uh-oh spaghettios!

Not to worry, they're probably just updating their website to reflect their new strategic direction. From PDAs, to communicators, to - let's see . . . what was it this time? video games I believe.

It is possible some people won't be able to reach the site (or many other sites) due to the global SQL worm virus roaming the internet - Read more here: http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/intern...tack/index.html

Doubt it.

Thanks for the good article. Doubt that has anything to do with HS since the "Maintenance - Be Back Soon" sign has been up since Thursday.

Must be a real bummer for anyone who needs to access the site

I think he's right - I think some can not get to Handspring's site and some can due to the Code Red like virus - I am having no problems getting to it.

Thumbs up Apologies

Guess you folks are right. It was either the worm or my ISP cached the "maintanence" page. In any event I got in via another web site link, re-bookmarked and got in just now with no problem.

Gotta' keep an eye on those Neo's. Have been getting amazingly wonderful feedback, especially about Visors, from the article:

The New Joy of Reading

Wish Handspring would take this seriously, there's a tremendous (worldwide) market for the Neo as a book reading device! And... from the feedback and keeping up with other sources, nobody else is addressing this market with a product/price even close to the Neo.

It's not bad, but the reversed backlight is a bit of a pain. I'd fork out an extra $30-$50 for the Clie if I was just getting a bookreader.

On the other hand, a universal remote as good as the Neo costs hundreds of dollars more. So do most of the other specialised widgets you can replace with Springboard modules.
