Angry Fatal Alert !!!

I have the Handspring Prism and love it. I am using the 45 day demo of DateBook 4. It was working great and I intended to register and purchase at the end of the demo. However, today, I deleted some info that was in DateBook + and afterwards when I tapped DateBook 4, I received this Fatal Error message:

"MemoryMgr.c,Line:4340, NULL handle"

and I had to do a soft reset to clear the screen. Does anyone know if this is a problem in DB4 and what steps I should take in order to continue using DB4? Perhaps delete it and reload? I don't want to lose all my data. I've checked the manual but it's not very helpful.

You cannot use DateBook+ after installing DateBook4. DateBook+ is modified version of DateBook3, which is also not compatible with DateBook4. Once you install DB4, you can longer use the DB+ icon, as problems will occur.

There are three files involved.

One is datebook.dat
One is unfiled.dba
One is DateBook4DB

On a Visor, there is a file called DateBook3DB installed that is used with DB+. Once you upgrade to DB4, the file gets updated to DateBook4DB. I am assuming this is where the problem comes in, as DB+ looks for the file DateBook3DB.

You can still use the regular Palm DateBook as it does not use these files.

Once you upgrade, you should not need to use DB+ anyway, as everything should be visible in DB4.

You might consider viewing the DB4 FAQ at Pimlicos Website for more information.
