Palm OS 4.1 On A Neo?

Just got my Neo (I am SO ADDICTED!). I noticed that is a newer OS (v 4.1) available at Palm's site. Before I paid for this upgrade, I was wondering if this OS would run on my Neo (currently 3.5.2LH3.0)

Hey,

Sorry but handsprings have a flaw their operating system is on a rom chip and therefore cannot be upgraded.

That's ok. I couldn't be happier with this unit. I was just curious. I've become so dependant on this thing in just a week, that if I suddenly lost it, I'd cry. Color would be nice but I have no problem getting along without it. Thanks for the response.

Gimme a break. You know as well as I do that Handspring's use of non Flash rom is a well documented design feature. Cripes you make it sound like somebody accidentally switched the flash and non-flash rom chips and handspring put them in there by mistake.

Hey,

I was just trying to help a guy out. Handspring's use of non-flashable rom is not a design feature it is a way to make the handspring units less expensive. Design feature!!! LOL!!! I would, like everyone else be able to upgrade their handspring to a new OS. So just give me a break.

The OS upgrade advantages are primarily on the Desktop and is available at HS!!

Most of the advantages to the 4.1 OS are at the Desktop (PC)level--or for color---

Handspring has most of those advantages on their Desktop upgrade that WILL work with your Neo on their website available for download--

You might even already have the 4.01 desktop software on your CD -- But if not you can get it on the HS site--

Thert are virtually no programs that require past 3.5 OS and only a handfull that need better than 3.0!

The real problems and changes will get here long after we have OS 5 and new hardware & drivers that won't work with our lowly 3.0 + 3.5------------
