Time to move on?
(sound of taps playing softly in background)
We are here today to mourn the loss of yet another Visor Prism. Our beloved Visor, "Petey" (PeDAey) lost its effective battery life sometime during the night of Thanksgiving, and refuses to charge any more.
Those of us left behind mourn his loss, and wonder, where should we go from here? Should we try to sell off all of our Visor accesories and go with a completely different PDA, or should we try to revive Petey with parts found around the web. Should we try to send Petey in to Handspring Heaven, in the hopes he might be resurrected?
Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

If you're willing to sell out and give up on Handspring, the Tungsten E is a great PDA for the price. The only thing you'll want is a good case, like the E&B Slipper, as the included flip cover with the T|E scratches its finish
The other thing you would miss is the Universal Connector - to use a keyboard you would have to get an IR one.
Overall I'm pretty happy with the T|E, except for the scratching.
ahh, my first color pda. I was a proud papa. You have brought back some fond memories...that was 4 years and many many pdas ago. I think its time for a treo600.
Thanks for the info. You must be prophetic! That's exactly what I did this afternoon. I found a Tungsten E at Staples and love it! I will miss all my accesories, and my keyboard.
My biggest problem right now is getting the old info into my new handheld. Tungsten E Outlook conduits require at least Outlook 98. The best I've got is 97. Wonderful!

New Life for Old Prism?
(sounds of trumpet, formerly playing taps, now being hastily put away). "The report of my death has been greatly exaagerated." "It's a miracle!"
Lo, and behold, I saw my formerly dead Prism come once again to life in its cradle. That which was dead, is now alive again!
Great! Now what do I tell my wife, after I've bought this expensive replacement? "I need to keep a spare"?
I truly don't believe what happened this morning. Just for old times sake, I pushed the power button on my Prism. Nothing happened. Then, again for old times sake, I put it back into its power cradle. and Oila! it comes on! Just like it always was.
but I'll tell you one thing. After installing and working with a Hi-res Tungsten E, I realize what I was missing. I do think this Prism is still having problems with its battery, but I've been able to recover files and data I thought I'd lost.

My origianl Prism is starting to waiver. Cracked case. Light doesn't indicate when it's charging. Having HUGE problems with Panther. But it works. I use it daily. And...when HS discontinued them I bought a spare. ta da!

For all concerned,
My Prism is alive and strong. Since I've bought a new Palm T-E, my lovely wife is the proud owner of the Prism (with my technical support). Life is good!
