Last Wednesday I HotSynched the Visor with MS Outlook and it worked fine. After the HotSynch, I downloaded and installed AvantGo. Today, the HotSynch said it was working, but neither my Visor or MS Outlook was updated. I deinstalled AvantGo. Still, no update. Anyone know what gives? Thanks in advance (I just got the Handspring this past month and am still learning about it -- thank God for this forum).

When you say Outlook, do you mean just for email or did you also install PocketMirror to sync your contacts and calendar, too?

MarkEagle, Thanks for the quick reply.

Unfortunately someone else installed by synch program so I don't know what exactly installed for the synch. Here is what I do know: When it was working, the synch would synch my email, todo list, contacts, and notes from MS Outlook with my email, todo list, address book, and memo pad in my Visor. All worked well as the program would even prompt me as to how many and what changes were made before the last synch. Does this help?

Just to be sure, you are using Windows, right?

If so, it sounds like PocketMirror is installed. I've not heard of any problems after installing AvantGo but you might try this:

Click on the HotSync icon (the one in the taskbar). Select Custom... from the popup menu. This will open a window showing your conduits and their actions.

The AvantGo conduit is MobileLink. The PocketMirror conduits are Outlook Calendar, Outlook Contacts, Outlook Tasks, and Outlook Notes. Email is handled seperately by the Mail conduit.

If you have all of these (there's probably others as well), are the actions set to "Synchronize the files"? A "Do nothing" action means that the conduit is disabled. If disabled, double-click on the appropriate conduit. Select "Synchronize the files" and check the "Set as default" box, then click [OK]. Repeat this for the other Outlook conduits and then try to sync.

Yes, I do have Windows 98 installed as my base computer operating system. Where is Pocket Mirror supposed to be? On the PC? It is not on my Visor. I deleted the Mobile Link and the AvantGo from my Visor. I will reinstall these and then try what you suggest.

P.S. what is "libmal" software on my Visor (v.2, @120kb)?

PocketMirror is installed on the PC. It replaces the default conduits with the ones for Outlook. Libmal is part of AvantGo/MobileLink I think... not 100% sure if it's used by anything else.

Reinstall

I ended up re-installing Intellisynch (I think we use this rather than PocketMirror for some reason). Anyhow, it I talked to others taht I know who are using Handspring Visors and they had the same problem I had when I installed AvantGo. They also had to reinstall Intellisynch once AvantGo installed or had to de-install AvantGo and reinstall Intellisynch. Weird.
