-- Hotsync both Palm (serial) and Handspring devices on one PC? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15999)
My wife has an old Palm IIIe that we're interested in synchronizing with our home PC. However, the PC is currently set up to hotsync with my Prism. Can the two coexist, with the Prism using USB and the IIIe using serial? Any guidance on setup would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ron
Current setup:
Windows 98
Hotsync Manager 3.1.0Hb
Palm Desktop 3.1
Yep just enable both USB and serial on the HotSynch menu and make sure that serial is pointing to the right port.
I currently synch eight different Palm devices to the same computer at home and at work.
We also had a PalmIIIc and Prism connected to the same PC.
NO PROBLEMS.
We even have our own Outlook profiles with our own calender, contacts etc. I believe I got the instructions for the outlook setup from Handspring's site.
Just make sure that before you hotsync that you open outlook with the profile you want to sync.
note: Returned the IIIc after 2 months because the grafitti recog was unusable, Staples let me apply the entire cost(including extended warranty) to my Prism without questions.) GOOD STAPLES - BAD PALM
