Yes, I have and my Prism doesn't seem to mind a bit I've checked the voltage under load with fresh batteries and it is within Handspring's specifications.

For those who have built or will build their own battery packs, I strongly recommend including an on/off switch. My AA pack has one but my C cell pack didn't. On my last trip, a moment of absent-mindedness caused me to toss my keys into my gadget bag. The keys came to rest on the battery pack's plug and shorted it out. Within minutes, acrid smoke was billowing out of the bag as the overheated battery pack smoldered and melted! Luckily I caught it before anything else was damaged. Lesson learned: include a switch so there is no exposed voltage when the battery pack is not in use.

I wish I could take credit for that but that is Dave again that had that great suggestion. Man he gets around.

Now if I can get him to respond to all my great ideas on the flashmodule egroup I will be happy.

Then again maybe they are not good ideas and it is best left unsaid
