Angry

I've been syncing fine for over two months with my USB cradle. Had to reinstall Win98 (surprise) and now USB doesn't work. My wife's got a PalmIII serial cradle that works fine. Both used to. I've:

1. Soft reset the Visor
2. Deleted and reinstalled Hotsync S/W several times
3. Rebooted PC
4. Deleted all USB ports

I'm ready to start gutting chickens. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: reinstalls - - did you setup the HotSync profile with exactly the same name as on your Visor? And are you and your wife using different Windows profiles?

Have you disabled all Hacks and DAs?

Is the USB cradle showing up on the Win98 Device list? If so, is it showing as active and operable?

Have you tried the registry fix mentioned in this site's FAQ?

The last thing that I can think of is to double check the Incompatible software list (maintained on this site), and delete any offenders that might by on your Visor.

Unhappy

Thanks, Yucca, for the info. I'm not seeing anything for it in the Properties box. When I first installed it, it asked for drivers for the device. Unable to find them, I exited the install and started over. Never asked again.

I've tried deleting the USB stuff, dicsonnecting my other USB device, etc. But I haven't looked at the registry fix. I'll track that down.

But nothing else has changed on the Visor since I re-installed Windows.

Yippee!

The regedit fix worked. Now it's a happy camper.

Many thanks!
