-- Batteries again, this time on a springport (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=12599)
I just bought a xircom springport modem and the batteries packed up after around 45 mins of testing - mind you if it wasn't for VC I would have shipped the modem back cos as the power drained the modem froze my visor rather than providing a series of warnings akin to the palm os.
How long should a set of batteries in a springport modem last? and how does this compare to the drain of the onboard batteries caused by a Thinmodem?
I use a Lithium Ion StarTac battery in my SpringPort and it last for many hours inbetween recharges - probably 8 to 10 hours. After my first crash due to low battery with the SpringPort, it was worth the investment.
You asked how it compared to the drain on a ThinModem so last night I did some unofficial tests browsing some news sites from bed last night.
I have a Prism & A ThinModem+, 56k (v.90) was turned on so battery life is shortened. When I started it was at full charge and after about 45 minutes of use it dropped to 73%, since a prism never seems to "fully" charge I'd say it used about 20%-25% of the battery.

Dear Santa.
Please help me help Card Access deliver a product to the european market...
do you think that'll give them enough time to apply for accreditation over here?
