After installing the InnoPocket Flashadapter on the Visor, my installed Magellan maps show up as files like 'MagellanDB010010017000'. Many have the SAME file name. Is there any way to differentiate one from another? Why don't they show as 'Chicago', etc.?

This is one of my biggest gripes with the Magellan, I tried the Geoview software, and it installed fiels with names, so I could work out which map was which. Thus, I couldload maps not in use into CF, and then bring them out when I travel to an area.

The only way I have found to know which one is which with the Magellan is to look at file sizes. You have to compare from inside the program, to what the file mover says, and then you should know which was which.

This is easy for moving into CF, or other media, but knowing which map is which when moving back is not so easy. I haven't tried re-naming the maps, I figured that was not likely to work.

I agree that file size is really the only way to come close to figuring out which map is which, but with so many maps of similar size, this will be a real pain. I think I'll contact Magellan to see if they can adapt to this need in an update.... Thanks Russ.

Good call, thanks for that Dave. It is cool when developers pay attention to customers, especially when the questions asked are not even really about their own product. I would almost buy your software more than once just out of support . Notice I said almost... I am still a starving college student, and my PDA addiction doesn't help.
