Also have some conduits on the Visor for third party programs that are not on the PC.
First off, you know you won't be able to use the USB cradle with Win95, right? Win95's paltry USB support won't work with the Visor.
Second, conduits are stored on the PC, not the Visor. It's the actual apps that are on the handheld.
Now, what you're doing is essentially starting from scratch. Start with installing the latest Handspring version of the Palm Desktop. During the installation, you'll be asked for your PIM sync choice (Palm Desktop, Outlook (PocketMirror Std), or some other 3rd Party app). In my case, I'm using PocketMirror Pro so I chose the Outlook option to install the Std version. When the installer asked me to sync for the first time, I chose no.
Once the Desktop was installed, I proceeded to install the PocketMirror Pro update in order to preserve my PM conduit settings. I still did not sync the Visor at this point. Next came BackupBuddy and InstallBuddy so that the default backup and install conduits were replaced.
This is where I said a few prayers, placed the Visor in the cradle, and hit the button. Lo and behold, it worked!!! After it completed, I checked the Visor and Outlook to make sure everything was there and that there were no duplicates, etc. Now I was back in business!!!
In your case, you'll need to reinstall all the other apps that provide their own conduits (WordSmith, TinySheet, AvantGo, etc). Not installing them prior to syncing will not have any negative impact on data in the Visor since it's the conduits that control the sync activity. Just install them one by one and you shouldn't have any problems.
Good luck!
