I get a lot of hard resets. Even one is too many, but yes, I get them with surprising regularity. I also have 16 MB, run afterburner and have about a dozen hacks running.I've changed my fonts, and use Khroma to completely redo the color scheme. And I use beanup, which works great, and Victor the cleaner, which now doesn't work very well, and trapweaver, which I find helps and Mem Fragmentation Viewer which does absolutely nothing and recycle which defrags every night for me. Probably it would be worse without these little utilities, but I don't think overall it makes a tremendous difference.
I do find that nearly all the hard resets come when removing a module or reinserting one. I learned the hard way to not only let the operation with the module finish (such as backing up) but then to exit the application completely before removing the module. This stinks, of course. These modules (or the Prism) shouldn't be so sensitive!
I imagine that users who run the basic apps that came with their machines don't have problems. And for those of us who scan PalmGear all day long for the newest apps and updates to old ones and try things out that sometimes don't work, this may be the price we pay.
I tried inWatch, for uninstalling everything. The problems are 1. you have to remember to use it before each installation - it doesn't work automatically. 2. If you install more than one thing at once, you have to remember what you named the file where the multiple apps reside. And 3 (worst of all) - you need to uninstall and reinstall everything through inWatch or you won't know what files are leftovers should you later uninstall everything. A great idea, but not the best solution for us. I have over 700 files on my Visor. Reinstall?
Omnisky, with all its various problems, at least knows how to reinstall itself if the contents get corrupted. It would be nice of the Visor did the same.
