Has anyone experienced problems using Version 1.6 of the driver on a Visor Deluxe. I seem to get Fatal Errors with this driver installed.

I got the first one after installing and performing the reset. Then, I uninstalled the driver and everything was fine.

I installed it again, and this time it asked for my S/N. Immediately after entering it and hitting okay, I got another Fatal Exception. Performed a Soft Reset and then Enabled the Keyboard. Entered my S/N at the prompt and it seemed fine.

Then, while using the keyboard to navigate through my Deluxe, I got another Fatal Error.

Other than the Delete problem, it seems to work great on my CLIE with OS4, but for some reason it is a pain on my Deluxe.

Maybe I will try Version 1.5.

**Well, I have now loaded Version1.5 of the Stowaway driver and it appears to be much more stable on the Deluxe. So far no problems at all. Kind of odd that 1.6 seems to have several bugs in it.

You're using the proper Handspring version of the driver on the Deluxe, right?

Yes, I am. I knew I should have specified that in my post...

I have not had any problems with the new driver. I have been very happy with the pointer as well (once I cranked up the speed settings in the driver to their maximum). My device is a VPL, however. Do you think the problems folks are having are Visor Deluxe/ older OS dependent? Most of the folks having troubles seem to be using a Deluxe.

This particular problem seems to be with my Deluxe. My CLIE does not have the problem.

However, the WordSmith issue seems to exist regardless of OS.

Yeah. It's really that DELETE issue that's bugging me.

I own a Prism and i'm getting the deleting issue, it's not realy a problem for me b/c if i mess up on a word i just backspace it out of there and retype it, forced habit. All and all i like it, the pointer feature is fun to play with but i dont have a practical use for it.

I downloaded listNavigatorHack and menuNavigatorHack (I found LapTopHack a bit too intimidating and too hard to remember the keystrokes). These two hacks with the pointer allow me to control my VP when it is difficult to use a stylus. Examples are when I am a passenger in a car or when I am on a train. I find that if things are too bumpy, I keep tapping the wrong spot! With the pointer, I don't have this problem though I agree that it is not the easiest thing to use. (Someone suggested on another thread that one of those little pointer controls like on laptops keyboards would be a nice addition to the StowAway. I agree.)

I find the pointer useful in these to settings, otherwise a stylus is easier.

Any movement on this front. I just realized I no longer have the old driver, so I may need to solicit a friendly attachment email from somebody who had the brains to hang on to the old CD or the old driver...

Apparently I never bothered to update, and still have v.1.5, so LMK if you need it.

silly me thought i was using 1.5 all along and was gonna stick it out until the bugs were fixed...but I am using version 1.2 on my DX.
no problems with the delete and no "fancy" pointer control, should i stick with what i got or go for at least 1.5?
