Probably impossible to say for sure, as the pic is not that detailed, but I would bet that the Visor "snaps" into place and would not slip out by accident. I'm almost positive that the case is like the Motorola Star-Tac cell phone holster, which you may have seen around.

I may be wrong, but this is what I think the description for the Visor Holsters will be like. This is an add for a cell phone holster:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Plastic Phone Holsters

Be fast on the draw with one of these plastic clip-on phone holsters. The phone fits snugly inside the holster and will not fall out. There is a steel spring that holds the plastic clip in a closed position, making the holster clamp on to your pants or belt. The clip even has a swivel plastic hook that grabs on to the bottom of your belt or pant stitching for added security. Please note: The Nokia phone holster cannot be used in conjunction with our 18mm thick high cap lithium vibrating battery. The holster can accommodate only 11mm and 14mm batteries. All Cellwest cellular accessories are warranted for an industry leading three full years!

Cool

Heeeey, for all of you out there waiting for a 3rd-party case that holds springboard modules, look you at the Rhinoskin 2000...
http://st2.yahoo.com/pilotgear/rhinopak2000.html

This is what I ordered. The size difference between the Palm 3 and the Visor isn't much, but enough to make most of the smaller, closer-fitting cases useless, but this one can easily hold it while still being belt-mounted. It'll also hold springboards, and some other stuff, is rugged, all at a fair price.
Only downside is that it looks to be a little big for many people to wear it on their belt. I don't care, I already wear a bunch of stuff on my belt at home and at work, but this may bother some people.
Check it out.

Talking

Why not wear a back pack or carry a suitcase. Sorry for the sarcasm, but that thing is HUGE! Maybe OK for camping, but not too Vogue for the business crowd.

Phantom: I have ordered two different cases for my visor as noted in the post. I'll try and let you know what "security" they both have against stuff falling out. The paper pad is a thing of the past but not totally worthless....I'm like you sometimes it easier to just write it on paper.

I have no confirmation on either case other than shipping in October. If you'd like me to provide complete details after I have received send me your email address at [email protected] it's also part of my profile.

If I try and post it here you might miss it depending upon how much you monitor the site but either way I'll provide a brief description. And I promise no spam since I don't ecommerce at all.

Lightbulb

I just got in that case (RhinoPak 2K) I mentioned a few posts ago, and it's not quite as large as I thought. Black, too, so not quite as obtrusive. Plus, the belt mounts aren't on the side, like the picture makes them out to be, they're on the back - two of them. This thing is going nowhere.

Overall, I must say I was surprised, I didn't think it was going to be this cool of a case. One downside, other than its size, which doesn't bother me (I don't have business concerns, I work at a grocery store) is it lacks a built-in screen protector. The guys who make the really cool-looking flip-top screen protecting cases for Palm III-series machines, Sigma Designs, told me in an email they might be making similar covers for the Visor - the fit isn't right as it is. They make some really interesting designs and colors, good fit for my green visor. I may combine the two if and when that comes out.

Of course, the moment of truth has yet to arrive. My Visor hasn't come in yet, but since I reserved I hope to get it in this month. That's when the real test of this thing begins.

hold on to your hats!

an incredible company called ebcases makes some of the best cases available. and they are working on a model for the visor.

there cases are great because they attractive; well made, and are more like a walet than a case. I use my Slipper III (for my palm3) AS my wallet. And get this, you palm V(x) users, they make one model which is literally a tandard flip wallet for your palm.

neat eh?

I have a Palm III Dooney & Bourke flip-top leather case that cost me ~$50 from RCS Computer on 57th & Madison in NYC. I slipped a Visor Deluxe into it at Internet World and despite the steel security cables, the Visor fit in fairly well. In fact, there was no gaps or empty pocket-effect like I would have expected, as I've used this case with the Palm III with the plastic III cover on it as well for extra protection.
