Macintosh version?

Is this update driver available in a Macintosh readable archive (not .exe)?

Thanks,
Ken

People have had success emailing Thinkoutside and asking for a .prc file to be sent directly to them. I'm shocked that ThinkOutside tried to just post a .exe file!

can't access...

I've downloaded the new driver...but when I put in the serial # on the back of the keyboard, it doesn't let me go on. I've put in the number exactly...and nothing. Can someone possibly help me out?

Mike

Don't confuse the alphabetical Os with the numberical 0s. Why is the serial number necessary anyway? Does ThinkOutside think people will be pirating copies of the driver ?

I also think it's a bit odd that it requires the serial number to work...

....maybe they're tired of customer service calls to the tune of "well, my friend beamed his driver from his Vx to my Platinum and it doesn't work!!"...

...as to the serial number thing... I've heard elsewhere that some don't work (older s/n?).. Again, email thinkoutside. Despite dropping the ball (or rather, refusing to play ball) with the Edge, TO has great customer support.

My Stowaway was ordered within hours of it becoming available and the S/N worked fine for me. As Bernie said, the zero's and "Oh's" can be easily confused.

yes! That's the first thing I thought of when I was messing with the substandard pointer system on this one.

Well I have downloaded the new driver but I can not get it to work. It will not let me go past the enter serial number screen!!!!**##

I have substituted 0 for O and O for 0 but still no go. I have emailed support but not got an answer yet.

I have to say WHY a serial number, do they think people are going make copy keyboards?

It took me several tries to get the SN accepted. I had to very deliberately and slowly press on the OK button. It finally worked.

I have this vision of Steve Martin filling out those settlement checks towards the end of the movie The Jerk.

"XYZ123"... OK

I guess it's ok as long as you're not being too deliberate!

Query: how did you learn of the update?
I mean, Targus isn't aware of it yet. Their website still has the 1.5.1 version.

Under a folder in Favorites in IE I have several pages I go to periodically to look for updates on software, like WordSmith, ThinkDB, Memoware, etc. This was one of them, but it was at the ThinkOutside page.

Targus is the marketer, and their name is on the device; Think Outside directs all support questions to Targus on their updates pages. Ergo, Targus should have the updated driver as well. This is why I noted it. I'm well aware of whose product it is.

A Mac/Linux version is easy -- just don't use a stupid installer program!

There is always some loss of blood products due to outdating. This is because you always have to collect extra, just in case there is a car accident or a surgery goes wrong. The shelf-life of a red blood cell unit is 42 days while that of a platelet unit is only 5 days.

The problem with the Red Cross was that they continued to appeal to donors after it was obvious that the need was not there. Their plan was to freeze the red cells but so many donors turned out that they could not handle it. In addition, they had inadequate resources to actually freeze the units. A decision was made by a former Red Cross employee on her own without listening to the people who really know what is going on! THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE CONTINUED TO BEAT THE DRUMS WHEN THE NEED WAS NOT THERE! They have been severely criticized in the Blood Banking industry for this.

At the institution that I work at (a large Midwest health facility whose name cannot be mentioned), despite the great turn out of donors, we still had barely enough blood to handle our needs. A danger exists now with the upcoming holidays and the bad press that donors will be turned off and there will not be enough blood for patients who need it. I am very concerned about this as are colleagues in other parts of the country. Please, give blood this holiday season!!! It will not go to waste!!

BTW - If you plan upon dieting after the holidays, a blood donation results in the loss of 600 calories!!!

Also, many people gave blood after Sept. 11 as a way to "do something." In other words, it was therapeutic for those who gave blood. (Of course, I guess the correlation is that it's anti-therapeutic to hear that you gave blood in vein (get it?? in vain??) But I still would rather have given to feel like I was helping.
