I just recently left the Handspring fold and went Sony.
Back during the summer of 2000 I spent $150 on a Cybiko device (I worked in an Electronics Boutique and had the bad habit of purchasing anything that even just 'looked' cool). It came to me quite soon after that for the same amount, I could buy a real PDA with real features (the Visor Solo), so I returned the toy to work and purchased (for $100 more) a Blue Visor Deluxe (which I then kept with me everywhere I went). It was also shortly thereafter that I discovered VisorCentral.
I had my Deluxe (and convinced a few people to get one themselves) until roughly about April of 2001, when one of my friends opted to get rid of his Prism in favor of a laptop. I gave him my Deluxe (he needed another one for his girlfriend, and he already had an Ice Deluxe) and paid him $200 for his slightly used Prism. That became my one and only 'carry everywhere' device until just recently. Within that time, I got myself a Stowaway Keyboard, Backup Module, Vaja Prism leather beltcase, Minstrel Modem, Memplug (obsoleted the Backup module), Beatplus, VisorPhone (obsoleted the Minstrel), Vaja Prism/VisorPhone leather beltcase (obsoleted the nonVisorPhone Vaja), and HandCam. Almost all of which I learned about here first.
This setup lasted me until a few days ago, when I got my Ericsson T39m off Ebay and my Blue Sony T615C came in the mail from Sonystyle.com. I can honestly say that these are wonderful little devices. The Sony ain't perfect (colors are washed out, jog wheel feels a bit stiff, stylus is a bit small, buttons are subpar), but the screen resolution and viewability far surpasses anything I've seen recently, and this INCLUDES my step-dad's Ipaq 3850 (non Bluetooth version). And my phone? Better for my needs than the bulky Prism/Visorphone combo (and will be an even better companion to my CLIE once Sony releases their Bluetooth MemStick).
So now I'm gonna pass along my Prism to another friend of mine (gotta keep it within the 'family' so to speak) and will probably pass along a couple of modules as well. Does this mean that I'm going away from VC? Heck no. This place is great. It's got great information, great people, and just a generally kick-butt setup. As long as VC doesn't force non HandSpring owners away, I'll stay.
