What type of files are you downloading... PRC's or ZIP's?

What are you installing it to? You can't put a .zip file in your PDA (unless you have special software)

Have you tried unzipping to a folder and then installing the .prc file found in the zip?

I have all ways done that when downloading
Save to disk? I yes tell it to download to desktop as a prc file. then I doubleclick on it and it is installed on next sync. Except know whenI do it -it ain't being installed on my hand held!

OK, I'm seeing some conflicting information. In your first post, you mention that you're getting a 'file type not supported message'. In your last post, you say that it you can doubleclick the file and it shows that it will be installed on the next sync.

Are you still getting the message? Does it bring up the hotsync install dialog?

Sound like either

1) you've lost the file association for prc's
2) the file is locked - check the install folder and make sure the file isn't marked read only.

good advice above. Also make sure you're not saving a zip file as a prc file. Even if it's named prc the file will not install because the internal file type is zip.

Sorry about the conflict of info there. One of two things happen either I can not double click file and have it install in the install tool or it says it's the wrong kind of file. weird huh

File type association seems to be partly to blame if I understand you right. Have you tried opening the install program and dragging and dropping the file into the install window? This can also be done by hitting the "add" button in the install window and browsing to the file you want to install. The install program should be under your Start Menu -> Palm menu.
