they are unwilling to ship any VP related products to Canada.

fido has already told me that the visorphone would work on their network no problem and that they would have no issues with me using it. it is handspring who is refusing to do business with canadians, not fido.

maybe youll have to get one from ebay, or have it shipped to an american friend.

attn: Yardie (or anyone!)

Do you need to dial in to an ISP simply to send/receive SMS messages?

I have the Nokia 8890, and a Visor Platinum. I am trying to connect these two devices, and use Fido. I have activated Fido Data.

I also have a Motorola P8767. I am trying to find a way to connect this to my PDA as well. I have a Palm m505 as well, if that makes a difference...

Can anyone help?

Hey ASkywalker!

You would need to use a web based service if you want to do SMS via a Visor/Nokia hookup. You od not need and ISP to send SMS when you are using the VisorPhone. You can use a free service such as Reachthem.com to send and receive SMS messages.

Talking I remember that calculator

Hey mrknowitall!

I'm having flashbacks! I remember that calculator!!! How cool! I probably still have one at my folks house somewhere!

I know off topic, but hey! It was kinda cool! Next somebody will have one of those Teleco football games that I spent all Christmas vacation playing one year. What cool graphics! It had moving dashes and everything!

Talking

Thanks Travis

This is like that episode of the Simpsons when Milhouse finds a POG with Alf on it... "in Pog form" LOL

I touched on this in the OT section thread 'What was your first computer?' and revisited the memory here.

I'm thinking of the hideous wood panelling that was selling for people to stick on their visors! But this is different.. this is retro San Diego Padres style we're talking here.

Now that I think of it, I think this would make a decent paint job for my Prism...... NOT!*

LOL

Remember "NOT!" ? What? Not? Oh.
