Red face User ID problems

Hi all. Haven't posted for quite a while, as my old Visor's screen broke. Finally got a new VD (Ice).

Here's the problem: when I first started it up, I put in a different user ID. Now I'm having massive problems syncronizing. I tried a soft reset, a hard reset, etc, but can't seem to fix it.

I get the following error (now, it was different before) when I try to sync:

- Installed file: C:\Program Files\Palm\natesc\backup\Saved_Preferences.PRC
- Installed file: C:\Program Files\Palm\natesc\backup\Graffiti_ShortCuts_.PRC
- Installed file: C:\Program Files\Palm\natesc\backup\LauncherDB.PDB
- Install failed: C:\Program Files\Palm\natesc\backup\AvantGo.PRC
Install synchronization failed
Restore application database error
OK Date Book
OK Address Book
OK To Do List
OK Memo Pad
OK Expense
System synchronization failed
HotSync Error: Connection is lost (6410)

Any ideas? Help....

I also had a sync problem last week trying to reinstall AvantGo. I had done a hard reset (long story, don't ask ) and couldn't get AvantGo reinstalled. I was getting a different error from what you are but I finally had to disable all my hacks before I could get it on the Visor. I'm not sure what caused this but if you're running any hacks, try disabling them and then attempt to install AvantGo. If this doesn't work, try deleting the AvantGo.PRC file from the directory specified and see if that helps.

Thanks, other help...

Thanks MarkEagle. I finally got it installed, but have had a WHALE of a time trying to get it to work. At work, I only use the Visor to get AvantGo channels. I got the following error:

HotSync operation started 01/05/01 09:02:30
Date Book - sync configured to Do Nothing
Address Book - sync configured to Do Nothing
To Do List - sync configured to Do Nothing
Memo Pad - sync configured to Do Nothing
Expense - sync configured to Do Nothing
OK Mobile Application Link
HotSync Error: Connection is lost (6410)

It almost always seems to work fine (updates everything, searches for updated web pages, saving updated web pages), but then everything suddenly stops and I get the errors. I also occasionally get a message saying "Please upgrade AvantGo" with the URL to their web site.

I KNOW I have the latest version. I've re-downloaded it several times. I don't have any hacks, and the system is largely a virgin one (just got it a couple days ago). So I have no idea what's going on.
