And you got to admit, that think is going to be a brick! Silver is quite heavy as I last recall

I Want one!

Actually, I like the silver color. It will look really cool with a VisorPhone sitting at the top

Anyways, I had my Prism upgraded to 16MB so the warranty is already void. My case started a hair-line crack where the stylus is inserted. This happened shortly after getting a Pentopia stylus (probably has nothing to do with the Stylus, but just an observation).

I called Handspring about getting an extra Chasis and they wouldn't send one (didn't want everyone to start voiding their warranties I guess). At least this way, I'll have the option of getting a new "uncracked" chasis for my Prism. If it doesn't cost too much (<$50) then I'd probably find it worth the money. If it's more than that, I'd probably pass.

Any company that gives us an "Option" is good news. I would like to see them develop a "C3-PO" style Gold, that would be pretty interesting.

Jon

Hey, pimps aren't the only ones who love chrome, y'know! And distinguish-pishtinguish -- doesn't the black screen (when off) or 64k color (when on) tip people off enough?

I like the C3P0 idea, too. Always thought Elvis looked best in that gold lamee suit, too.

Sheesh, I think I'm just addicted to glitter .... Reminds me that whenever I'm "reading" one of those men's magazines .... Oh, nevermind...

Anyway -- no more cracked Cobalt cases, there's a (real) reason for the chromium upgrade!

From the photos the case looks like it is just a paint-dipped piece of plastic. Look at the photos, you can see the pooling & running of the paint! I think you guys got pranked.

Now brushed aluminum case options for the entire line of Visors would be a better idea...

Talking Looks more like chrome than silver

Is the case really a different case that's chrome or is it the heat shrinkable designer coverings that the Japanese have been using on their PowerBooks? It's a plastic/mylar material that is stretched onto cases then heat-shrunk for a form fitting cling.

They also have this stuff in various woodgrain and marble. Would love to have a marble Visor, wood might be cool too.

How much would a Corian visor weigh?

Question

I'm not sure what to think. At a first impression I was thinking to myself 'sweet' but now that I've read through the messages on this topic, maybe it isn't the best thing. After seeing the case and comments on the forum, it made me think about what it's made out of, how much weight it could add, how it affects any kind of warranty on the Prism, and if the company will be in business after Handspring sees a company selling something with their logo embossed into it. I'll admit, I could really use a nicer caseing for my Prism as the paint is starting to wear down to the navy under it, but it's still doing it's job. Plus identifying the Visors would become more of a challenge since the casing would be unfamiliar to some. Dull brushed metal or stainless steal look would probably be a better look, as long as my Prism doesn't weigh too much (I carry mine in my left pocket everywhere). Although I like the weight of the Prism, I don't want it to change too much just because of a case. I'll see about getting something like this once there's a price for it, given it's not too much.

Angry You have to be joking...

words such as disgusting, tacky, cheap, crappy and many more come to mind... this thing makes the Visor look like a cheap 60s Buck Rogers toy....
