But i could stand having the SB thing on the back, if there was like, a belt clip to hold my unit with. But that will be another six months down the road. But to all of you prism and platinum owners that will replace your new unit for a even newer unit, all the power too you.

Well what I do is sell the old model, make up the difference and buy a new model. I got some good sales on Ebay. Sold my Deluxe for about $230 last fall. Sold my Platinum for about $290.

After giving this some thought I don't think I would switch to the new Edge if I was given one for free. Why?

1. After viewing non-color screens for 4 years (going back to the Newton days) it is so much easier to view / read / use a color screen
2. I use the modules like crazy and always have one plugged in
3. There's no basic improvement in speed, memory, operating system or performance.

If an Edge version come out with color, faster processor and perhaps 16 mb of 32 mb of memory -- now we're talking.

Edge

It is quite interesting how big of a deal handspring is making, when you boil it down, it is a platinum with a different casing and internal batteries. Check out the website, if you haven't already.

Thumbs up

At first, like everyone else, I had misgivings about the edge. But after looking at it a bit more, I have to say that it is growing on me.

The edge now has a modern look to it. I really like the of an actual metal case.I have been waiting to upgrade my vdx for a while now, and am looking for something with a major slim factor. Of course the the whole sleeve (let's just call it what it really is) has me turned off slightly, as I also am a somewhat moderate SB user.

I think I'll just have to wait till next week to see what the m505 looks like, before I make my decision.

Unhappy Edge vs. Palm

I hope this new addition to the visor family doesn't turn more people off of the handspring company than turn them onto it.
