New Year's Day easter egg

On the topic... Did any of you have your Visors on as we crossed into the new year in January? Got my first one last Xmas, so I had the chance to do this. Unless it was all the sparkling grape juice I was drinking, I would SWEAR that it put on a fireworks display.

Anyone else see that?

I never did but I guess we could put our time back to New Years eve 11:59 1999 and see for ourselves.

geek that I am, and being that I didn't have my Visor until mid-January, I took a stab at changing the date and time to 11:59p 12/31/00, watched it for a bit, and nothing happened. poo.

What happened to the "posts counter"?

Bu the way, has anyone noticed that the little counter that tells how many posts you've made to this forum has stopped working? Scroll up the side and see how rarely it gets updated. See if this still lists this as my 49th post.

so I'd have thought it would have been any new year. Which also makes more sense, what's the point of a surprise that happens only once in the entire operating life of a device? (I mean an intentional one, not a horrific crash or something.)
But, I tried 1999 just now and still nothing happened.
Perhaps davecombs WAS seeing things. or Visor's not easily fooled.

I'm wondering if davecombs mistook the effects of the bubbles in the champaigne for fireworks in his visor

I dunno... if I saw fireworks shooting out of my Visor's screen, I would think it was time to call Handspring support and ask for a replacement...

Dang it! I also took a chance and asked Handspring tech support; they gave the usual "Must be a 3rd party app, check out PalmGear..." answer.

I know my Visor did this! We were nowhere near the expiration date on that juice. Maybe a hack or even the OS updater is keeping it from showing up. I'll have to dump everything into my backup module and do a hard reset. I'll keep you posted, if anyone cares.

PS to CaptainCaveman: I got nicknamed that at Cross Country camp in high school. Small planet, no?
