Will Handspring (or Palm for that matter) honor the warranty on a device if you are not the original owner, but it is still within its warranty.
The opening line from Handspring's Hardware limited Warranty reads, emphasis is mine:quote: Handspring, Inc. (Handspring), warrants to the original end user (Customer) that this product will be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal intended use, for one year from the date of original purchase from Handspring.
Palm Computing's reads:quote: Palm Computing, Inc. (Palm Computing), warrants to the original end user (Customer) that this product will be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use, for one year from the date of original purchase from Palm Computing or its authorized reseller.
So, technically they do not have to honor the warranty of a used device. However, that does not mean they won't.
