quote: 1. I was poking around on Innogear's web site and in their FAQs it seems to indicate that I HAVE to revert to HotSync v3.1 from v 3.5 in order for the HotSync of .mp3 files to the Visor to work. I have a Prism, which came with v3.5 already installed on it, and I really don't fancy the idea of having to go through all this hassle. Is it REALLY necessary? Has anyone successfully managed to upload files onto the MiniJam using v3.5?
Well, w/o seeing the actual article your're referencing...I've used my MiniJam(s) (I've owned 2) on a Platinum & an Edge. Both used 3.5. It wouldn't even be possible to change the OS on a Visor as they're burned onto the ROM, which isn't Flashable like the Clie's, some Palms, and Treo's.
quote: 2. Just how long does it take to transfer files? I was looking at their Speedloader, but that isn't apparently compatible with Windows2000 Service Packs, which seems a bit stupid.
Based on the info on their FAQ, it looks to me like only the original Speedloader isn't compatable...
the Speedloader 2 is:
quote: Please note that this update is only for the original SpeedLoader. This fix is not required with the new SpeedLoader 2 (Pocket Reader).
When you click on the Speedloader 2 'More Info' link, it goes to the Speedloader info, not the Speedloader 2 one...hopefully that means it'll work with Win2k & XP...but I'm not holding my breath either.
3. I don't recall having to load anything on my Visor...but its been a while.
Innogear Inside is a user on the board who says he/she works for Innogear....he/she can easily answer these questions better than I...so maybe you'll get more definitive answers from him.
