Re: Ripoffs.com cases

Great belt clip design and solid construction of a material that would certainly help if dropped. Never a guarantee of no damage of course. Check out www.ripoffs.com and plug in "Ripoffs CO-52" in your favorite search engine for places to buy. Very satisfied.

I'm impressed with their belt clip; I've had a few problems with the belt clip on my Rhodiana Visor case (mostly due to my poor positioning of the clip on my belt.)
However, if I read the Ripoffs web site correctly, it appears that the Ripoff is strictly a holster -- you need to remove the Visor from the belt holster to access it, as opposed to a "work-through" case that stays with the Visor while you access it (like the Rhodiana). Is this correct?
I've dropped my Visor in its Rhodiana case several times from a fair height (not intentionally!) and it's survived without a scratch. In each of these situations, if I'd used only a belt holster, the Visor would have been unprotected at the time I'd been using it. Also, I prefer a snap-clip to velcro for the cover -- makes less noise when opening it during a meeting.
Still, for a secure method of carrying a Visor around on your belt, I can see the appeal of the Ripoff. It's a balance between the Visor falling out of your hand vs. falling off your belt. As the Rhodiana is pretty secure, and has been a great case, I'm going to stick with it.
