I just dropped my visor in it's E&B slipper case from waist height onto a slab cement floor and almost cried when I realized the screen was cracked! Handspring is now sending me a replacement ($85 later), but I am left wondering how to deal with my occasional clumbsyness.

I am considering a more protective case, but I'm not sure which one makes the most sense. (easy to use, belt clip, protective). I'm considering either the Riodana or the T-1 Slider. Would the Riodana have saved my visor in the earlier mentioned episode? Would the T-1 Slider?

Does anyone know of any other good protective cases that also offer functionality?

The TI slider probably would have protected your unit - I dropped my DLX under similar circumstances in one, and it survived unscathed.

However, I personally didn't like the TI and I returned it. It's heavy and awkward to use. Also, it doesn't have a belt clip.

You might try the Rhinoskin 1100. It's a zipper case, made out of balistic cloth, and it's fairly padded. I have one (it's what I got after I returned my TI), and I think it provides decent protection.

Has anyone tried the new BUMPER case for the Visors? I have no idea when they made these and I can't get their site to work right now, but it looks interesting.

I had heard that the Palm Bumpers weren't that great, but perhaps they've updated the case for the Visors.

Ripoffs.com cases

I have had a Ripoffs, yes the right name, model CO-52 for a couple of weeks and I really like it over several attempts at other belt clip type cases. Great belt clip design and solid construction of a material that would certainly help if dropped. Never a guarantee of no damage of course. Check out www.ripoffs.com and plug in "Ripoffs CO-52" in your favorite search engine for places to buy. Very satisfied.

try a Rhinoskin shocksuit

Sounds like you need a Rhinoskin shocksuit. I got mine after a similar experience with a cracked screen. This case will offer you a lightweight foam cushioned shell with good functionality since you can keep it in its case at all times unlike some of the other cases that stay on the belt and need to be pulled out. If you go with the rhinoskin you should make a few modifications as I have described in a recent posting which mainly involves removing the cheap velcro closure and cutting out an IR window on the side of the case.

The Ti-Slider

Well...the protection of the Ti-slider is good only if you drop the case while it's closed. If you drop the case when it's opened, the front of the visor is completely exposed. I have a Vaja case, and I think it could survive a drop. I think the Rhodiana case would offer the most protection while maintaining the stylishness of the visor.

Taken all that into account, I have recently re-discover my Ti-slider. I recently brought a platinum. The silver of the platinum looks very cool in the Ti case. I put more foam lining around the case so my visor would fit more snug in the case. I also cut the small patch of foam covering the IR port and it worked! Now I can beam with my platinum inside the Ti-slider.

Check out www.fosil.com for their belt case. I've been extreemely happy with it both for toughness and usablity.

I did like what I saw for possible options from Ripoff's website for carrying extra Springboard modules though and will look into it more.

Is the link to fosil correct?

Ti-slider for Prism

I asked Rhinoskin if the Prism fits in the Ti-slider case for the Visor. They said the Prism does not because it is too thick and are supposed to be developing one for the Prism. How much thicker is the Prism than the Visor? I would like to know if anyone has tried fitting a Prism into a Ti-slider case.

4.8" x 3.0" x 0.8"; 12 cm x 7.5 x 2.1 cm

VISOR PLATINUM-
4.8" x 3.0" x 0.7"

VISOR DELUXE-
4.8" x 3.0" x 0.7"

PLAIN VISOR-
4.8" x 3.0" x 0.7"

I viewed the side view pictures side by side of the Visor Platinum against the Prism. I was astounded at what I saw. I knew my Prism was thicker, but where do they get .1 inches difference from? It looks much greater to me. Is this deception in advertising?
