You could plug it in only if you happen to be carrying the cord around when the batteries are going dead. If not, you're in the same situation, needing a couple of alkalines to pop in until you get back to you charging station. I'm pretty mobile with my visor, so I wouldn't be able to have the charger with at all times, nor would I want to have the visor tried to an outlet while it recharges.
On the other hand, if I followed a nightly recharging practice like PDAEnvy is talking about, this shouldn't be a problem. But there isn't any other real advantage to these particular batteries over other rechargables, is there? They don't have a longer life, or faster recharge or anything like that, do they?
