But the original question was not stupid at all. A companies fiscal year does not necessarily coincide with the calendar year. The last company I worked for had a fiscal calendar that started in July which meant that Q1 was also in July.
But I think it's a pretty safe bet that most press releases and product availability announcments use the standard calendar year.
