Arrow

To disable Hacks: start Hackmaster, and press the "Uninstall All" button.

BTW. There is a known problem with Hackmaster so I'm attaching a link to the thread in the Software section: http://discussion.visorcentral.com/...TML/000560.html

Thanks for the link Yucca.

This is my first Palm device and I am downloading Hacks like crazy.. (Almost similar to what happened when I moved from Dos to Windows :-) )

This site has proven to be most useful. A big shout of appreciation to the maintainers.

My most helpful hacks and DA's. I use EVPlugBase instead of HackMaster and have had no problems.

Hacks:
*ClearHack - gets rid of lined dots on memos.
*FontHack123 - try Alpha Font collection.
*MiddleCapsHack - enough said.
*CharHack - quick access to all special graffiti characters.
*SelectHack - allows double/triple tapping to select sections of text for cut/paste.
*LaunchMenu - User defined stroke brings up program menu.
*FindButtonHack - splits "find" button into four areas allowing launch of often used programs.
*CalcButtonHack - similar to FindButtonHack.
*App/DALauncher - Launches DA's and other applications. Also replaces SwitchHack.

DA's -- desk accessories. Small utilities that don't kick you out of current app.

*CalCal DA - small pop up calculator.
*daMemoPad - quick access to memo pad.
*exConvDA - pop up measurement conversions.
*ExpenseReport - summarizes expense entries.
*IRSwitch - quick way to enable/disable IR.

Happy Hacking!

Let me get this straight (I'm a Palm newbie with my Visor): Hacks DO prevent you from hot-syncing? And so far I haven't had to do any resets; it's been running BEAUTIFULLY and I love it!

Glad to find another DA user! Some of my favorite DA's are:

Volume DA-turn on & off sound quickly.
Bookmark DA-jump to freq. used adress, memo or application.
Melody DA-vertual (musical) keyboard

ACEHack:

Allows rename, delete operations on the default system categories. Freeware (PalmGear).

NB: easy way to get contents of Unfiled into another category (almost said Folder, been on Windows too long!) just rename Unfiled, then create Unfiled again.

BoogaBooga:
Not all Hacks interfere with HotSync. I'm running AfterBurner Hack, BatteryMeter Hack, and MenuHack and haven't had to disable 'em to hotsync yet.
