A handheld has a variety of audio alarms to notify you of system events such as errors, low battery, etc. In addition, many software applications have audio alarms as well. For example, the Datebook and Datebook+ programs have alarms that you can configure to go off once or at the same time each day. For example, you could set an alarm to go off 10 minutes before a meeting to remind you to stop what you are doing and head toward the meeting. (I do this occasionally). ToDo also has alarms to remind you to check your ToDo list.
