The fact that I don't mind the snap-lid doesn't mean that I love it and think it's all I need. The fact of the matter is that while it's not TOO bad for me to pull the thing off/put it back on, having the Flip-Clip and being able to 'flick-wrist' it open is much easier/cooler.

One may not mind his car painted blue, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want a red paint job.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but with Prism unlike VDX, I can't even put the hard snap cover on the back when I'm using the unit. It doesn't seem to fit.

Wink keep trying ....

Well the fact of the matter is that the hard cover from handspring WILL NOT fit on the back of the prism. They changed the form factor of the unit by expanding the backside to accommodate the color screen and the lith ion battery. So the cover literally only fits on the face. Try our clip and lid. No more juggling pieces.

Well, that's what I thought.
I mean, they got SO much criticism for the snap lid in the first place, you wonder, what could ever POSSESS them to make it even WORSE????

Would love to have your lid.

Question

Sastian
What happened to your web site? I went to place an order and the main page is real old and the order page does not even come up. When will you get the Pay Pal option?

Accepting new orders

We have finally filled all of our pre-production orders and have now begun to accept new orders for our FlipCover and Prism FlipCover.

You can expect a review of these products soon on VisorCentral

Next week we are going to begin taking orders on FlipCover adapters and we will also make an announcement regarding a new adapter that will work on ALL oversized modules.

But what about the Tactilis flipcover?

What about the Tactilis flipcover? I want one that will work with my Omnisky.

Unhappy disappointed

I thought everything was going to work out well with Tactilis regarding my broken flip clip. Someone from the company called me at work and offered both a black and clear clip to make up for my broken clip. He also said that they would throw in another Palm III lid, even though I had said the cracks in the lid were my fault. I was rather impressed. However, three weeks have passed, and there's no trace of my replacement. I had been carrying my visor around in a neoprene marware case without a lid on it, and now there's a small scratch above the graffiti area. Oh well.

Thumbs up Growing pains, but Tactilis backs their words

I complained (whined), some time back that stress cracks appeared on my lid. Shortly after, the hinge peg and leg of the lid broke off after I pulled it out of my notebook bag.

Then and now, "I" caused the stress crack and broke the lid. It was not the products fault. Sastian said they would replace the lid free of charge and did. Granted it took a week or two, but it was a free replacement for something I broke. If if breaks again, I will buy another because it is better than my slipper case, the price is right, looks cool (even for a non-Trekkie), covers the VDx well and is very easy to use vs the old, handspring clam shell clip. But most of all, I realize the business is expanding and with it growing pains, sastian
backs up what he says. Businesses that commit on what they say get my business & hard earned $$.

New Server = New Bugs... (and eventually New Victories!)

"What happened to your web site? I went to place an order and the main page is real old and the order page does not even come up. When will you get the Pay Pal option?"

The new server is up and running. BUT - there are some issues (hopefully this will explain the email and shipping problems)...

1.) The consultants we are working with weren't able to fully test the site until the domain change took place.

2.) The domain change was effective on Friday and I've been out of town this weekend and unable to login.

3.) The front page is still the snapshot taken from the initial download when the consultants began converting the site. Also, the on-line store page isn't linking and the products page only allows you purchase flip-clips. All of this is being worked on and will be fixed ASAP!!

4.) Our email server login information has changed along with the server. I haven't been able to pick up emails for the past week (this should have already been fixed) and so there are still many unanswered emails. I try to personally look at and reply to each email so I'm really sorry if you haven't heard from us yet. Please look for answers to your emails in the next few days.

5.) Due the problems with the email server, there are some orders that were received that didn't ship in a timely manner. We were able to work around the email process last week and any outstanding orders (including any replacements) shipped on Friday.

6.) Paypal is supposed to become functional with the new site. I'm working to get this linked up and working ASAP!!

7.) The Flip-Lid (delayed) is going into production this week.

The good news is that we're looking at getting a cash infusion that will allow us to hire someone to help us handle the steadily increasing customer service demand that has outgrown the "family" business. Please bear with our growing pains. Our endeavor is to make every customer a happy one. We're truly sorry if we've missed you.

Question Flip-Lid vs Flip-Clip

What is the difference between the flip-clip and the flip-lid? You site doesn't show the difference. More pictures needed on the site.

The flip-clip is the thing that "hugs" the top of the visor from behind and becomes the "hinge". The flip-lid is a (still unavailable) lid custom-designed to match the Visor.

You can buy the clip and "Palm III reproduction" lids in several colors now. It looks like the custom Visor lid will be available soon.

Yipee! Any guesses what that means for when they will start shipping, Sastian?

Talking

Good to here from you Sastian, I was getting worried there. It seems like such an excellent idea........

Will the same clip piece be used for both the existing palm lids and the new form fitted visor lids? Anybody know?

YES!! Both lids work on the Flip-Clip!

Our original hope was to have both products available to ship together. But, as we've had a number of delays with the Flip-Lid, we thought it would be better to at least get you SOMETHING you could use in the meantime!

Still no shipping dates yet, but we'll keep you posted!

Since the Visor Edge lid only fits with the Edge Connector unused, is there any chance of an Edge flip lid that connects to the Edge groove?

Thumbs up Re: Growing pains, but Tactilis backs their words

Hey I finally got my new clip and lid. The new one works well, stays on without squirming off, and isn't bent like my old one. I'm really happy that tactilis was cool enough to send a replacement lid too, even though I'm pretty sure that I too caused the cracks in my lid. Now I just can't wait to get a real lid for the clip.
