You *might* be able to do it with FWB drivers, but the bottom line is, probably not.
Besides, it's a good thing to do once a year or so. It tends to remove wacky things from your system with a total clean install. On the bad side it takes forever to get all your apps back to where they were before....
Either that, or pull a HD from a junked computer. If you have IDE you can designate a slave drive as a Linux partition. This works great even for some macs that don't support second IDE drives with the MacOS, like my trusty PowerBase. You only really need a gig or so drive, you can always mount your mac drive within linux as shared data too.
