Re: consider batteries too

True, but (1) it should be 2+ years and (2) as I read the warranty, battery replacement is covered by the warranty. If you buy an extended warranty plus screen replacement from Handspring for $39.99, it will extend coverage to 2 years. Otherwise, it's $99 to repair the PDA (that would also be the price of a battery replacement if it's not covered by the warranty). Compare either of those to the cost of batteries over 2 years.
An example: on the Staples website, they list Duracell AAA batteries at $8.75/12. That would replace the batteries in a Visor 6 times, for $1.46/replacement. If, indeed, Li-ion battery replacement is included in the warranty & extended warranty, the extended warranty cost would be the same as 27.4 sets of batteries. Thus, if your batteries last a month or so, it's roughly the same cost. If you run through the batteries faster than that, the rechargeable will be cheaper. If you have to pay the full $99 repair fee, that would pay for 67.8 battery replacements. Of course, by that time, you may want to upgrade to a new model.
