I'm 17, and use the Visor for jotting notes/todos for classwork. And i just love the fact that I have a writing surface to jot things down on 24/7. I'm looking forward to buying the SIX PAK when it comes out. I've been using Palm Pilots since I was 15.

To all y'all who have no life experience yet,this 52 year old (who out there remembers "cpm")is a few days away from ordering the visor deluxe. and will not be buying paper this year... By the way, I also have a 15 month old daughter too. She is Y2K compliant and will be the first one in daycare with a visor...

- The visor is not just a young person's tool.
- I'll turn 62 this coming May - ordered a Deluxe visor in mid-September and have been using it every day since it arrived in mid-October.
- My daughter and son (29 & 27) also each have one.
- The point is that "palm-type" use is not age related! Rather it's whether or not you have a need for data and tools [calculator/timer/etc] on a regular basis during the day when away from your "at work" and "at home" computers.
- In fact, it might even be MORE useful for older folks - since my mental RAM seems to encounter more and more "parity errors" with every passing day.

I�m 17 and will use my blue Visor Deluxe mostly to get my life better organized. I was just to lazy to get my paper planner out and make a to-do list. I also ordered a Visor for my father, who is 42. Now they�ll only have to arrive, which they will in the next few days, I hope.

ynw86: how come half of your class have a PalmPilot? Did they get it from your school? I mean, most people in my class don�t even know what a PalmPilot is. Well, after the holidays, they�ll even know what a Visor is ;-)

I do not have a visor and I am doing just fine, I don't need one at this point. My husband has one and is crazy about it, but... he asks me for all addresses and phone numbers, so I am still OK with my (paper) agenda and my to do list. I am a "computer person" but I don't think at this point will make a difference for me. I think it is a great toll but for this money you really have to need it to buy it, just to be cool, or the first one in class to have it is not a reason for me.
Is just my oppinion...

This 48 year old has a bvdx (upgrade from an original pilot 1000) and uses it everyday. At work I synch to our companies group scheduling software and play my newly arrived Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf
Also use JFile to store info, including all the IDs and passwords I have accumulated over the years (decades?). IMHO I don't think it is a chron age question. If 14 year old is responsible, GO FOR IT!

I am 10 years old. I'll use the Visor fr games, games, and games. And don't ask why I didn't buy a gameboy because I will also keep track of school stuff and other cool stuff.

i use mine for games too. i mean it is a toy to the 16 and under people i think. but i use mine a lot for school. It is great. better then some crappy paper agenda book. And you don't have to pay for games if you use it as a gamboy type thing either..well at most you have to register. but there are a lot of cool games out there for free

Im 14, and a freshman in highschool. I just got mine during christmas break, and I have been using at school for 2 days. Already, it is a valuable addition to my life. As I grow used to the difference in my habits, I can't seem to see how I got along without one! I can take notes in class for a project and come home and print it out off of my PC. I use DueYesterday (www.nosleep.net) to schedule my assignments and keep track of my grade, and have loaded on a few games to pass the time. I would buy writerights though, especially if you are in a technology deprived area like I am where everyone wants to see it (including teachers). I still havent reached the full extent of it's usefulness, having it for only 2 days. Even though it isn't a replacement for the old pen and paper until teacher get a palm device of their own or some IR-Printers, it definitly is worth it, if the kid is responsible. Hope this helps.

I'm 23 and I use it for a decent amount of stuff. I get bored with games on it, but sometimes I do get into them. Mostly I like AvantGo and having anyone's number at any time works well.

Also, I bring it to the bars with me.. my friends love picking drinks out of it and when the bartender has no idea, we get to show him/her what it is. Local Favourite: "Tight Snatch" hehe.

My gf has a Palm IIIx, is 21, and uses it for address and solitaire so far.

OK, another one of us "old guys." I'm 41 and haven't touched my DayTimer since the Visor arrived. Beyond the organizer functions, I'm using it to work on documents and internet reading, some games, although I'd rather stick to a GameBoy for most of my "mobile gaming needs."

BTW - does anyone know where to find "high scores" for DopeWars? I've been playing for a week and my high is $3.5 million, so far. Life is good down in the Carribean! :-)

I'm 27. I just started a new IT job in Pharmacuticals. My new company is giving me the choice of buying me a new Franklin Planner ($150-$200) or a PDA. Although the Franklin requires no out-of-pocket investment and the PDA would be reimbursed, guess which one I'm pickin'.

I keep lookin' out the window for that darn Fed-Ex dude. I'm gettin' antsy...

im 14 i got the money myself, i love the visor and im into computers and programming i dont think its a very good investment get your nephew something he can gain money from, like get him programming books or something so he can make money one day, then he can buy worthless crap like the visor, but get him one anyway so he can learn about the pda revolution hehe

I'm 17 and i have a pilot 1000, i got it in 95 when it first came out and its part of my life. i have never broken it but treat it with respect adn have keep it in good condition except for screen scratches. Anyone could use a Palm OS device

On Saturday I made it just Over the Hill - 41. I own a BVD with only 1657K of free memory remaining. Jam packed with technical data bases and programs. Have sold a half a dozen of the things to colleagues and spent 3 hours playing Hardball on the flight home the day before yesterday.

When my soon to be 13 year old asks for a Visor she will get one.

Can't wait for the Six Pack
