Well I ordered my YadaYada modem on Jan 2nd. I took them up on the free modem/12 months of service deal. The guy said it'd go out overnight.

Didn't come yesterday.
Called and they said that it went out that day and I'd have it today.

Didn't come today.
Called and they said they'd check in to it and send me an e-mail. The text follows:

Mr. Dickens,

I apologize for the delay in shipping your order.
I see where you placed an order on Jan. 02. I have found out
that no orders from the 2nd and 3rd were shipped due to
technical problems at Novatel. These orders should be going out
tonite and tomorrow. I will keep your name and e-mail address to inform you of the tracking number when it is issued.

If you have any other questions please contact us.


I'm not really mad. I had already read this thread, so I figured this would happen. Hopefully I'll get it tomorrow, but otherwise I assume it will come early next week. I wonder what kind of technical problems Novatel is having...

I've been doing the Yadayada Dance too...was told it would ship, was told it had shipped (but no tracking #), was told it didn't but was about to ship...when I finally called the 888 number and spoke to Judy, she said that it would have been easy for the rep. at the other number to check the same list she checked and see that it would ship...today! Well, we'll see...it is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

I agree with eveyone who has stated that just telling the truth, even unwelcome truth, certainly breeds better customer relations than all these little lies and excuses. Now I have a huge doubt about Yadayada's veracity...although I really do want this whole business to end well!

Mine finally arrived this morning...(right after YY emailed the tracking number!)

I called tech support at the 888 number and, although the modem fought him all the way, the tech was really good - patient and creative and got it set up. I now have a weak signal, but will be trying it on a trip next week. My area gets almost no signal, being fairly remote. However, another thread deals with aluminum foil enhancing the signal strength, so I am heading to the kitchen...

The modem is neat, YY's folks at the 888 number are very sharp and I am hopeful...!
