Exclamation

We upgraded the VC frontpage this morning, combining articles and reviews into one area, and made more space for news in the right hand column.

It is being tweaked, so please leave your comments here.

Thanks,

Marcus

I like it. You need to put some product pictures back up, though, as it helps break up the sea of text.

Now...what's up with the software section?

I don't really like it.

I'm used to several things (that I've always thought were great!):

1. The pictures for the newest articles

2. The visormeter, and vc tracker on the right (much easier to read on that side I've always thought!)

3. More links (which have been decreased.)

Also, I thought the old location of the store link was great too!

I know you want to get it all on one page, but you're loosing clarity to reduce size.
To me, the page now looks a little cramped.

i agree with petro... i think that things look a bit cramped, now. i'm a fan of whitespace, and tho' there wasn't a lot before, even that is gone now... it's a little too hard to muddle through everything for my taste. but i'm sure you guys'll figure it out !

As an information junkie, I love it! It's all there in an organized manner and once I figured out the layout, it seems much more logical than the old one. Just add in a few pics of the newest reviews and it'll be perfect!

I generally like it.
However, I agree that a couple of small pictures (for example, next to the articles like it used to be) would do good. And I would move the block with the links in the right-hand lower corner.

Just my thoughts.

Keep posting your suggestions - we have already made several changes to the front page based upon them.

Icons for the stories will come, we are in the process of creating them.

Not bad... like all changes, some will like it, others won't. I think once the pictures return it will look a whole lot better.

We definatly need the pictures back, it will really make it a whole lot better. personally I liked the first layout, the one that was around a long time ago the most.

What's the difference between the stuff in the middle under "article" and the stuff on the right under "news"? I agree it's a little cramped, but as Mark said, you can't please everyone. I personally don't care about the tracker and the module poll, but I'm sure others do. Bottom line VC is and will continue to be one of two sites I'm guarenteed to visit everyday (the other, of course, bostonbruins.com ). Keep up the great work!

Great! Just put the pictures back in and perhaps keep the articles and reviews a little more seperate from each other (use icons or something) and it will be perfect.
